Tocal is 180 km North of Sydney via the F3 Freeway. It is 14 km North of Maitland on the Paterson/Dungog road. Nearest large railway station is Maitland. The Newcastle Airport is located at Williamtown, 50 minutes from Tocal. Newcastle airport is Aeropelican, Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin.
Getting here by car
If you are using an in-car navigator, the geographic location of the front gate is 151o35'32" E, 32o38'00" S.
Take the New England Highway to Maitland.
If travelling from Williamtown airport, turn right out of the airport and go to Maitland via Hexham. Follow the road signs to Hexham (not Newcastle).
If travelling from Sydney drive to the end of the freeway and turn left toward Maitland.
Approaching Maitland from Singleton, go straight through the roundabout at Hungry Jacks/Horseland. Turn left at the next roundabout and follow the signs to Paterson/Dungog
Approaching from Newcastle/Hexham, go along the New England Highway through East Maitland to Maitland. Turn right at the first roundabout and follow the signs to Paterson/Dungog.
From Maitland to Tocal...
Follow the signs through Maitland to Paterson - cross the Hunter River at Lorn, and continue towards Paterson. Tocal Agricultural Centre is 12.5km from Lorn.
Once at Tocal...
To go to the College or the NSW Department of Primary Industries Advisory Office turn left into the main entrance. All visitors should go to reception in the main campus area.
For those with booked accommodation arriving after hours, go to the main campus foyer and telephone the Duty Officer (instructions are beside the telephone on the wall in the foyer) who will issue keys.
Glendarra Function Centre and motel are directly opposite the main entrance to the College.
Tocal Homestead and Visitor Centre are located approximately 1.5 km past the Centre's entry gate, on the left.
